Superfast Extension Programme 2015 – 2017: reaching thousands more premises

The Superfast Cornwall Broadband Extension Programme aimed to upgrade c8,000 premises by the end of 2017, actually achieving over 10,000 premises. The programme was funded by the Government’s Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK), Cornwall Council and funding through the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) – Growth Deal and Regional Development Fund.

Superfast Cornwall had already made Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly the one of the best connected rural areas across in Europe. This next phase set out to address some of the most challenging locations in the county.

This work demonstrates Superfast Cornwall’s commitment to making faster fibre optic broadband as widely available as possible. The rollout has now completed and managed to upgrade over 10,000 premises.
